Pipeline: Dakota Access project nothing new
Re: “Dozens arrested at pipeline protest,” (TNT, 11/12).
There are already eight pipelines running under the Missouri River, and the disputed oil pipeline in North Dakota is following an existing natural gas line built in 1982.
Through the area where pipeline construction has sparked violent protests, the two lines run side by side, according to Energy Transfer Partners.
The existing lines have proven their safety, so I fail to see what the Native Americans’ grounds for protest are
