Election: America made not so great
The other night, one of my Hispanic American friends had three men shout “Make America Great Again” and laugh at him outside a pub in Renton. So this is what is real — right here, right now — in our neighborhood.
I get it, Trump supporters. You did it. But think about the kind of atmosphere this election has created — an environment that emboldens some Americans to menace other Americans because they are of a minority of one sort or another.
Meanwhile, I’ll be thinking about who my friends and family really are. I can’t forget how an American — my friend — was thankful that his car was close in that pub parking lot. This foul byproduct, this stirred up filth, I am absolutely sickened by it.
I get it. You did it. You took ownership and made this happen. What do we do now?
