Drugs: Nation should be doing better

We are a nation of educated people. Then, why, oh why, are people still using dangerous, illegal narcotics in America? We now know the effects of heroin, meth and other dangerous substances; yet, people continue to use them.

Is it worth it — to land in jail and have a criminal record that will prevent possible employment in a legally operated business? Or to end up homeless because family and friends don’t want to personally see the devastation that will destroy your brain and body? Or to be a part of a cult that destroys good people instead of nourishes good people? Is a high really worth all that? Because that high will destroy brain cells and make you do stupid things that you otherwise would not do.

If you’re caught up in dealing and using illegal substances, don’t call me when you’re sick, cold and hungry. You were educated to know better than to use addictive narcotics.
