Cancer Moonshot: Let's come together to defeat cancer

Earlier this year, the president announced his intentions to intensify progress to find new treatments and cures for cancer through a National Cancer Moonshot. As a cancer survivor with the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN), I have renewed hope that the nation can unite to end suffering and death from a disease that still kills almost 13,000 Washington residents each year.

Congress can help make the Cancer Moonshot a reality by increasing research funding. Research requires investment and a boost of money to the National Cancer Institute can provide researchers across the country with the resources they need to capitalize on groundbreaking discoveries of today to save lives tomorrow.

Please urge Senator Patty Murray and your other members of Congress to pass the bipartisan 21st Century Cures Act and fund the Cancer Moonshot. Doing so will offer hope to millions of current and future cancer patients who are counting on research and breakthrough treatments to save their lives.
