Scouting: Still relevant to boys after all these years
I am a Boy Scout in Troop 274 in Puyallup. Some people might think that with the luxuries we enjoy today, the old effective methods of Scouting may be old fashioned. I’ve experienced firsthand that Boy Scout practices are not only a viable means of raising young men, but it’s also a charitable organization that benefits society as a whole.
It supplies a brotherhood to those willing to be accepted by it, no matter who they are. The organization has brought me all over the globe to be introduced to other cultures and geographies alike, and I would not be the same person I am today without the guidance and training I have received.
Boy Scouts not only teaches young adults the basics of camping and cooking, but a sound foundation of character and moral principles to build their lives around.
