Electoral college: We can stop this Trump train wreck
“37 electors could bravely turn tide of history,” (TNT, 12/8).
Feeling uneasy about Donald Trump at the helm? As Kathleen Parker aptly noted in her column: “The stakes are too high, and the evidence of Trump’s presidential aptitude deficit too severe” to ignore.
Trump has promised to use civil liability to attack the free press. Prominent Republican senators have expressed growing concerns that our presidential election was compromised by foreign interests, likely Russia, which may have been interacting with the Trump campaign throughout the election.
Hillary Clinton received at least 2.5 million more popular votes than Trump did. The real election takes place Dec. 19, when the 538 electors cast their ballots. Thirty seven are needed to either change their vote from Trump to another qualified individual, or to abstain from voting.
There is a growing grassroots effort of 4.6 million Americans to stop this Trump train wreck before it occurs. Go to: electoralcollegepetition.com to sign the petition encouraging electors to support the national popular vote winner.
