Trump: Watch and wait, don't demonstrate

Donald Trump will be our next president. No, I will not go out and demonstrate. I accept that the American people have chosen him as our next leader. I wish him well and want to give him a chance. Most of all, I wish that he can unite us. The more divided we are, the weaker we become. and the more those who wish us harm, can do so.

But I will watch diligently whether what Trump does contribute to freedom of the press and speech, improves employment in those rust belt and other impoverished areas, resolves festering immigration issues without turning us into an anti- immigration nation. I will watch how he treats women and handicapped people, how he deals with our allies and how our economy is affected by his actions in this global economy.

But most of all, I will watch whether his decisions unite and strengthen us or drive us even further apart than we are now and thus weaken us as a nation even more.
