Post-election: Stop bullying on Facebook

When scrolling through Facebook, it’s not uncommon to see a post that reads something like this: “Unfriend me if you voted Trump.”

I am shocked to read that some friends imply that every single Trump voter was racist, sexist, and “gross.” I find myself in a very odd place on Facebook where I see college-age students counter arguments by calling names and invalidating others’ opinions. We bully each other on assumptions, and on who we voted for.

While Tacoma Schools may not accept bullying, it’s still evident almost everywhere else. Maybe it’s not supposed to be “bullying has no place in Tacoma Schools,” but instead educating students that voting aside, we all are people, who want to see the best change in America. Some just believe in Trump and that’s okay, too.

Don’t unfriend me because I voted for Trump, but instead for the person I am.
