School funding: Why not copy other states?

Re: “GOP senators propose school property tax,” (TNT, 1/28).

I don’t understand our Legislature’s inability to resolve this issue. With 49 other states also working through the school funding challenge, there must be a reasonable solution out there.

Our legislators don’t need to reinvent the wheel, just replicate it for Washington state and be done with it. Any conflict in doing exactly that shows where the real priorities of our Legislature lie, and I’ll bet it’s not with the kids.
