Tideflats: That odor is the smell of good jobs

Re: “Northeast Tacoma residents seek respite from Tideflats noise, odor,” (TNT, 4/15).

I have no sympathy whatsoever for those who choose to build their fancy homes on property overlooking Tacoma’s Tideflats industrial area and then expect a quiet, odor-free environment.

Where they see a nuisance, I see jobs with substantial wages that have supported families in every part of Tacoma and the surrounding area for generations. Too many of those jobs are already gone forever.
