Opioids: Tacoma lawsuit is silly idea

Re: “Tacoma might sue opioid makers,” (TNT, 5/11).

Finally, Washington has surpassed California as the land of fruit and nuts. Your mayor is blaming drug companies for homelessness? It couldn’t possibly be anyone who loves drugs and hates to work, could it?

Isn’t this along the lines of “All those guns are killing people! Ban the guns! Sue the gun makers!” No, it’s along the lines of “Let’s bleed drug companies dry to solve Tacoma’s problems.”

Mayor Marilyn Strickland is following the solution of “Free”-attle’s mayor, Ed Murray: Throw money at it, and it will all disappear.

Maybe you could also sue makers of diabetes drugs, because some people depend on them? Oh, let’s all smoke pot and wish it away.

As if cancer and chronic pain sufferers don’t have enough problems, now you want to put good people out of business. So socialist.

The city of Tacoma is a “public health emergency” with such a mentality running it.
