City manager: Council skirts good governance

Are the mayor and other members of the Tacoma City Council going to divvy up covering the $24,000 consultant’s bill wasted as they chose one of their insider friends as the new city manager without any opportunity for input from city residents?

Good government demands transparency and an explanation beyond “she is familiar with Tacoma.”

That $24,000 could have made a small dent in the pothole tsunami that seems to be a permanent condition for living in the City of Destiny.

And they wonder why people are cynical about government institutions.
