Trump: He's in prime form with economic insight
Being a 74-year old veteran living through the golden age of the Trump era, I must be honest and tell you that there are three things that keep me up at night:
▪ I worry that my son Cletus will not get one of those good jobs in the coal mine.
I worry that Trumpcare will abolish Medicare before I get my two hip replacement surgeries.
▪ I hope that President Trump can come up with a metaphor that means an action taken to stimulate the economy through government spending.
Oh, my! Then I looked at the Economist magazine, and saw that Trump had answered the third thing that keeps me up at night. He says he originated the term “priming the pump.”
“I came up with it a couple of days ago and I thought it was good,” he said. “It’s what you have to do.”
His exchange with the magazine is real. Read it in the May 4 edition, and weep.
