City manager: Pauli is insider of utmost integrity

Re: “Council chooses insider for city manager,” (TNT, 5/18).

As someone who has known Elizabeth Pauli for almost 30 years, I commend the Tacoma City Council for its appointment of Pauli as Tacoma’s city manager.

She is a civil servant of enormous integrity, intelligence and competence. She will hit the ground running and is sure to continue the fine work accomplished by her predecessor.

As the “other Washington” demonstrates on a daily basis, sometimes a competent insider is exactly what is needed.
