Salmon: To preserve them, target sea lion predators
Re: “State loses another round in salmon fight,” (TNT, 5/20).
Millions of dollars are being spent to allow stream access to migrating salmon, but nothing is being done to control sea lion population.
Something seems to be wrong with our sense of values. Which is more important: to preserve our salmon or the sea lions? Probably some just can’t abide shooting sea lions; after all, they are nature’s bounty.
Oh, please. Would someone tell me the benefits of having sea lions around our waters as opposed to salmon? I don’t recall anyone eating a sea lion, but who knows, maybe they’re better than beef.
