Education: All teachers on earth deserve raise

Ever wondered how much money teachers earn? You’d think a lot, right? They taught you literature. They taught you your facts. They are part of the reason you are you! Why don’t we appreciate them?

Teachers don’t get paid as much as they should. Elementary and special ed teachers get around $21 an hour, middle school teachers $22 and high school teachers get $23 an hour (national average) to teach classes of 20 to 30 kids!

But they show up. They do their job. I believe after all they’ve done for us that we should do something for them. We should give all teachers a raise.

People say the most important jobs are things like doctors and scientists. But would we have any doctors or scientists if there was no way for them to learn what they need to learn? Our entire population circles around teachers.

My fourth-grade teacher, Mrs. Worthen, was amazing! She would spend her salary on things for our class. She would stay 3 to 4 hours longer than she had to to make sure we had fun the next day.

I live in Tacoma and go to Jefferson Elementary school. I believe teachers worldwide should get a pay raise.
