DACA: Helping Dreamers helps us all
On Sept. 5, the Trump Administration announced the end of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, otherwise known as DACA.
The end of this program could begin the deportation of nearly 800,000 young adults who were brought into this country as children and are now holding jobs, going to school and paying taxes. Currently over 300 business leaders, Trump supporters and many Republican U.S. senators are in favor of continuing DACA in some form.
More than 70,000 Dreamers live in Houston, where many are helping clean up the recent devastating storm, Harvey. Many are also serving in the military.
It is a common-sense approach to protect DACA recipients from deportation and recognize their contributions to America, the only homeland they have ever known.
Call your member of Congress and urge support of DACA!
