Lillian Hunter is an exceptional candidate for Tacoma City Council Position 6. Her varied and distinguished career reflects fiscal responsibility and a commitment to public education.
Among her achievements, she was appointed by the governor as a trustee at Bates Technical College, where during her tenure the school completed its state-of-the-art advanced technology center on time and $1 million under budget.
Hunter has served two terms on the Tacoma Public Library Board, and was an administrator at Lincoln, Wilson and Oakland high schools. She is a past board member of Tacoma Art Museum and Tacoma Symphony, and a supporter of the arts.
She has lived in neighborhoods across the city, in the north, south, east and west ends, and will advocate for the needs of people in all these districts. Hunter's wide experience make her the best candidate to represent all of Tacoma in Position 6, the at-large seat.
