War widow: Trump's forgetfulness no big deal

Re: “Soldier’s widow says Trump didn’t know husband’s name,” (TNT, 10/24).

As I opened the paper this morning, my first response was, “Oh, come on. Give me a break.”

Is there no other news for the front page above-the-fold than this? Yes, I have compassion for the poor woman who lost her husband. But this whole hullaballoo is a waste of news resources.

I’m no big fan of President Trump, but he did make the call. How many names does he have to remember in his daily schedule?

I suggest we keep our criticism of our leaders to things that are deliberate attempts to mislead the public. Articles like this are a shameful waste of time — and just fuel the “fake news” allegations.
