School elections: Peloquin would excel on UP board

Fircrest residents in the University Place School District have an opportunity to vote for a candidate who has the character, capability and experience we need in local government.

Marisa Peloquin has these qualifications. She has an impressive record of public service in many roles and understands the value of a quality education. She has been involved in education for 13 years as an adjunct professor and military instructor.

With nearly 30 years of military service, she was an 82nd Airborne Division jumpmaster and company commander and continues her commitment to technical education in a reserve capacity.

A Curtis High graduate and a parent with children who benefit from UP schools, she has firsthand experience of the struggles students and parents face. Currently she serves on the Career and Technical Education (CTE) advisory board at Curtis. She has served on the Washington State PTA Board of Directors as well as local school PTA.

Peloquin will ensure that our children are supported academically and have access to the resources they need to build a bright future.
