Immigration: Separation is customary for anyone arrested
An arrested person who happens to have children, whether a citizen or not, is always separated from his or her children.
To me, it’s amazing that TNT letter writers and opinion columnists seem astounded that such is the case.
The Police Beat feature in the June 17 TNT describes just such an arrest by Tacoma Police, in which a woman is arrested despite having two children in the apartment.
Why don’t you devote as much space in the TNT to that “outrageous” event?
