Gun safety: NRA plays games with semantics

We have laws in our country regarding driving to make us safer. We call these laws automobile and traffic safety laws, not car control laws.

We have laws to keep our food safe. We call them food safety laws, not food control laws.

Yet throughout the years, the NRA has taken proposed gun safety laws and called them gun control laws. We have heard this manipulation so often that the general population now refers to gun safety as gun control.

The two words describe much different objectives.

Gun safety advocates, both Republicans and Democrats, do not want to take away all of our guns. However, the NRA has created the fallacy of gun confiscation.

Too many people have died because of our lack of gun safety policies and laws. Let’s stop listening to the NRA’S narrative and make our country safe again.
