Pastor: Fair investigation of Curry warranted

Re: “Tacoma megachurch pastor dismissed amid allegations,” (TNT, 7/2).

I am an active member of Life Center, serving as a board member in past years.

I have had opportunities to work with the Rev. Dean Curry very closely and always had a deep respect for his faithfulness and dedication to his position as our senior pastor.

For the past 14 years he has dedicated his life to the success of the church — a good shepherd leading his flock, inspiring members, teaching how to love God and each other and making Life Center a “Jesus place.”

Upon hearing of the allegations against him, I was shocked and saddened.

From what I understand, the process and decision to dismiss him from were made after an incomplete and unfair investigation, not affording him an opportunity to answer the charges or defend himself.

This causes me to wonder if there were side issues and ulterior motives in this decision.

It is my hope and prayer that additional fair and thorough investigation will shed accurate light on this issue.

My personal experience leads me to believe that these kinds of events always happen for a reason and that God ultimately has a plan.
