Drugs: Normalization of marijuana fuels crisis

Lakewood recently decided that marijuana would not be sold in the city, as have other cities. However, Tacoma and the media eagerly advertise the sale of the euphoric weed to the public as harmless.

Many people in Pierce County believe otherwise and are convinced it’s a gateway to more destructive illegal drugs.

The opiate epidemic is nationwide. The sympathy of the bureaucrats is oriented to the illegal drug users. There is no concern for the drug user’s family.

Many of us have gone through the cycle of a drug user’s introduction to illegal drugs and their addiction. They must have that fix and the euphoria turns to petty theft, selfishness, etc. and finally to violence against the family as their senses deteriorate.

The bureaucrat’s solution is mostly housing (drug houses?) and attacking pharmaceutical companies, which inadvertently creates wealth for the lawyers.

Meanwhile, illegal drugs are easily obtained. The opiate epidemic will only be reduced by stopping the very successful marketing of illegal drugs.
