Immigration: Care enough to fix the problem

“We care! Thousands stand up for immigrant families,” (TNT, 7/1).

Of course we care, but there is a limit to what our country can offer or afford when it comes to solving the U.S. immigration problem.

Instead of myopically following professional protesters like lost sheep, perhaps a step back and take a breath to help understand the problem.

We have over population and unsustainable infrastructure. Also, it is not just a U.S. vs Mexico problem. The wall was proposed as a pseudo solution to make up for lousy laws.

There are similar immigration problems in Europe and Canada. These small countries already have too many people who continue to raise progeny. They cannot continue to do that ad infinitum.

Immigration is complex. Perhaps understanding and acknowledging we have a problem would be a step in the right direction. To find a solution we should go to the sources, and that is not likely to happen because many of these countries are in turmoil politically.
