Election: Witting a smart break from status quo

Re: “Our picks for Puyallup area legislative races,” (TNT, 7/13).

In your endorsement of the two mainstream candidates for Position 2 in the 25th District, your Editorial Board missed an opportunity to support a candidate who brings qualities our district and state desperately need.

Ned Witting’s independence from special-interest groups and his common-sense approach to solving complex problems is what will break the dysfunctional gridlock in Olympia.

He brings a unique balance of fiscal responsibility from a private sector finance career and compassion demonstrated by decades of volunteer service in our community.

Unlike Witting, neither of the two other candidates completed the Tribune’s background check. Their lack of transparency has begun before the ballots were even cast.

If you want more of the same out of Olympia, voting for either of the main party candidates works, but it certainly doesn’t work for me and my family.

Witting can be the bridge between the two parties to bring about constructive, cost-effective and meaningful compromise that improves the quality of life for all Washington residents.
