Food co-op: Tacoma plays second banana to Seattle

Re: “Central Co-Op grocery opening now pushed into next year,” (TNT, 7/25).

It has been two years since the Seattle Food co-op management precipitously closed the Tacoma co-op shortly after merging with it.

Since then they have bought a site at the extreme northwest end of Tacoma instead of a central location and continued to accept investments from Tacoma citizens while taking years to finish a job that should have taken months.

Our resources are being spent in Seattle. If you were like me and have gotten no email updates, as claimed in the TNT story, I encourage you to call and email the Seattle Food Coop management and demand that resources are directed back to Tacoma to finish the job that should have been finished a year ago.
