Zoo: Elephants, like Orcas, have feelings
We are all watching the recent news about the mother Orca carrying her dead calf. As one expert said: "Grief and love don’t belong to us, we share it with other animals."
Yet Point Defiance Zoo &Aquarium in Tacoma continues to hold captive two depressed elephants. It looks like they will keep them until they die.
They could live out all their days in the wonderful PAWS sanctuary in California, with miles and miles to forage and roam, choosing to socialize with other elephants or not, living the best way possible.
But no, they make money for the zoo. Deplorable and very, very sad.
