Coal: Filthy air crosses state lines
Re: “Trump plan for coal emissions: Let states decide,” (TNT, 8/19).
President Trump wants the states to decide how or even if they want to curb CO2 emissions from coal plants, in an obvious and bizarre attempt to jump-start the dying coal industry.
I say bizarre because states do not have their separate atmospheres, as seen by Tacoma’s recent unhealthy air due to wildfire smoke drifting in from Canada and Oregon.
So does Ohio sue Kentucky for allowing Kentucky coal plants to pollute their shared air?
Let’s get serious about climate change — I mean climate disruption.
