Noise: Tacoma not getting adequate sleep

No matter what else a person does for their health and well being, if they are denied healthy sleep they will not perform well under any circumstance.

Since the spring, Tacoma has been flooded with noise from multiple businesses and ships in Commencement Bay, denying residents their needed sleep.

It is no wonder Tacoma schools have some of the lowest test scores in the state, large businesses aren't interested in locating here and aggravated crimes are above national average.

I wonder how the guests of the incoming Northwest destination hotel chain are going to react to the noise.

If Tacoma is serious about growth and ridding itself of a bad reputation, it must end the torture of its residents.

Stop the noise, and let them sleep.

Peter Trench, Tacoma
