Shooters: Word choice sanitizes horrific deeds
Why do we call those who kill multiple people with firearms “shooters” instead of murderers or killers?
A shooter is someone who tries to hit bottles or cans with bullets. A killer or attempted murderer is someone who tries to kill people.
Calling them shooters makes the act sound less horrific. We should call them what they are.
