Trump: He’s Russia’s best hope, not ours

Re: “Schiff says more hearings, witnesses possible,” (TNT, 11/25).

Truth no longer matters. Lies, smears and debunked conspiracy theories abound. It feels like a smokescreen to maintain a president who does not believe in the rule of law; he believes he’s above it.

Sadly, his behavior and actions are supported and minimized by lawmakers who should know better.

It is incredible that our president would seek help from a foreign government to win election and essentially admit he did the same in 2016. Worse, he was willing to deny military aid to an ally who’s fighting to maintain its independence from Russia, unless they investigated his political opponent.

When your president believes information from his intelligence agencies is incorrect and Vladimir Putin is a great guy, something is very wrong.

Russia’s goal is destruction of the U.S. and our allies. Maintaining Trump in office is a must for Russia.

America cannot and should not withdraw our world leadership. But given the cowardice of congressional members, this election year bodes to be one of even more sophisticated cyber hacking, interference and divisive rhetoric.

Truth does matter, but will it win the day?
