Politics: Kilmer, like Buttigieg, should reveal consultant work
Re: “Buttigieg to ID clients and open fundraisers,” (TNT, 12/10).
After the New York Times called on presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg to release more details about his work at McKinsey & Company, the company allowed him to do so.
I’m glad, because this company has a long history of promoting policies that harm the working class, like advising corporations to lay people off so CEOs can receive bigger salary and bonus packages. It’s even facing a criminal inquiry over a bankruptcy case.
We deserve to know what Buttigieg did for McKinsey. In the same way, we deserve to know what U.S. Rep. Derek Kilmer did there. The Gig Harbor congressman should release his client list and his work for those clients when he worked at McKinsey from 1999 to 2002.
Kilmer says he supports job creation, but he worked for a company that eliminates working-class jobs.
