Car tabs: More fair to charge by people’s ability to pay
To drive in Washington, you need a drivers license, proof of insurance, an emissions test and license tabs.
Why must poor people working two or more jobs be saddled with tabs that are more expensive then their car payments or insurance?
You should pay based on your income using your W-2 form or a copy of your tax statement with knowledge that if you submit incorrect forms, you will be fined twice as much.
Start with an income base of $10,000 or below and increase the amount owed for each $10,000 of income. The people who make more than $250,000 should help pay for lower-income people’s tabs.
The governor, state and local representatives and judges need to know that next November they will be voted out if they fail to heed the will of the people.
We already pay $10 for every hundred-dollar purchase we make (unlike the 10 cents I paid as a child). Elected leaders who have forgotten about the poor people of Washington should be voted out.
