Impeachment: Letting Biden skate is double standard

In late 2013, Vice President Joe Biden became the point man for Ukraine in the Obama administration. With no expertise in energy, Biden’s son, Hunter, was appointed to the board of Burisma (Ukraine energy company) in 2014.

In 2016, Biden used a quid pro quo to fire Ukraine’s top prosecutor who was investigating corruption at Burisma. Where was Democrats’ outrage over Biden’s possible corruption?

The Criminal Division of the Justice Department looked at President Trump’s call to Ukrainian President Zelensky and determined it was completely legal. Yet Trump was impeached and Biden was allowed to skate.

The president has authority to ask another head of state to look into alleged crimes by an American overseas and request cooperation with our investigators.

Biden doesn’t have immunity from being investigated because he’s a presidential candidate. He’s a private citizen and is subject to the law.

Trump’s impeachment was clearly manufactured by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Congressman Adam Schiff, a political hack. Abuse of power is an opinion, and White House officials have the right to challenge congressional subpoenas based on executive privilege.

This was an unconstitutional and political impeachment, and it will backfire on Democrats.
