Iran: Trump on brink of another disastrous war

One of the most insane foreign policy disasters in our nation’s history began 17 years ago. Based on lies, incompetence and with absolutely no plausible link to the terrorists who attacked us on 9/1/01, President George W. Bush careened our nation into Iraq.

Since then, that mess has only begotten more messes, like the carnage of ISIS and the strengthening of Iran’s and Russia’s influence in the Middle East. We have paid the price in thousands of service members’ lives and livelihoods, and over one trillion dollars of taxpayer money wasted.

Donald Trump’s reckless, unilateral assassination and his criminal threats to purposefully target civilian sites aren’t simply dangerous to our immediate lives. The threat of another disastrous war is bad enough.

But even if we succeed in averting catastrophic and pointless warfare, the one casualty that remains is American prestige: the greatest weapon in our arsenal.

We can do better this upcoming election.
