Tacoma: Local art tax needs review; gun tax, too
Re: “Tacoma art tax experiment needs close scrutiny,” (TNT, 1/19).
This editorial on Tacoma Creates, calling for accountability and spending priorities, is well received. No argument here.
Meanwhile, the city has a new firearms and ammunition tax, expected to bring in $30,000 a year. The plan? Spend money on professional consultants, according to the TNT.
Really? Perhaps the arts tax isn’t the only thing needing review.
