2020 election: What we need is President Mom

There seems to be a lot of arguing these days. Presidential candidates argue, Congress argues, news commentators argue, even family and friends argue.

While arguing has always been zealously protected in America, there are times when we need to put aside differences and come together to solve a greater problem. So the debate is, “who will bring us together?”

Remember when we were growing up, and we argued with our brothers, sisters or friends? Who was it that stopped the fighting? Who laid down the law and got us talking again?

That was Mom. So maybe we need a president who is like Mom.

For me, that’s Amy Klobuchar. She is smart, funny, full of wisdom and with a wealth of experience, just like Mom was.

She doesn’t expect us to be perfect, to build a better mousetrap or change the world overnight. She does expect us to be civil, do the right thing and make our family and country proud.

And Donald Trump better not sass her or Vladimir Putin claim it was all Ukraine’s fault. Mom takes that crap from no one!
