Congress: Kilmer doesn’t stray from Pelosi’s shadow

“Democrats say voters are eyeing everyday issues,” (TNT, 2/1).

The News Tribune’s portrayal of U.S. Rep. Derek Kilmer (D-Gig Harbor) as a “centrist” chair of the New Democrat Coalition ignores the fact that in the 116th Congress he has voted with Nancy Pelosi (hardly a centrist) 100 percent of the time, and in the 115th Congress 94 percent of the time.

The only votes where they disagreed were for political appearance purposes only.

Perhaps the TNT could stop the campaigning for Democrats before the campaign season gets into full swing later this year. Kilmer is as far from being central to anything, as is Pelosi.
