Socialism: So-called ‘disease’ not killing Northern Europe

“Socialism: Political disease spreads wildly,” (TNT letter, 2/2).

Socialism isn’t any more of a disease than capitalism. Both can be and have been abused by past leaders. Those who think capitalism is all wholesome and pure need to sit down and read “The Jungle” by Upton Sinclair.

Sen. Bernie Sanders isn’t a Stalin anymore than President Trump is a Hitler. A functioning democracy has a balance of socialism and capitalism. All Sanders is promoting is a balance that is more in line with other Western democracies in Northern Europe.

If that is a “disease,” someone better tell the Germans, the Dutch, the Norwegians, the Danes, the Swedes ...
