Trump: Not alone in concerns about Hunter Biden
Re: “Trump lawyer is one for the ages,’” (TNT letter, 1/29).
Rather than distracting by using abhorrent historical figures to besmirch Alan Derschowitz with no factual linkage, I prefer to focus on facts and the logic of his argument and what it means in the larger context.
Many others in many forums have raised concerns about Hunter Biden’s dealings before the July call. It is fiction when Democrats claim Trump was the only one pushing a debunked theory.
If Trump’s motives were at least partially in the public interest, it raises doubt as to intent. (And no, motives and intent are not the same. Motive is why you did something, intent is what result you expected or desired. None of Trump’s presumed/alleged intent came to fruition.)
If you argue Trump “did it” and it’s wrong, you must concede the Steele dossier and all it spawned is ironclad evidence of interference in the 2016 and/or 2020 elections – and worse, that it was perpetrated by Trump’s opponents including taxpayer-paid government employees!
Soliciting foreign interference either is a crime/impeachable offense or it’s not. In my mind Trump’s actions were not. The jury is still out on others.
