Trump: Slide toward monarchy is now complete
The king holds court to celebrate his acquittal and begin his revenge on the citizens whom he feels are not completely loyal to him.
This court consists of House members with undying loyalty; the Senate leader and senators who held a sham trial, without witness and documents; his cabinet, who may be as corrupt as he is; and the country’s chief law enforcement officer, who since being appointed has abdicated his duties to the country to become chief lawyer and defender of this king.
The king heaps praise on those who blindly follow and protect him, while complaining how unfairly he is treated by citizens who don’t. All while appearing to threaten actions against them.
He insists he has to authority to do whatever he wants. The acquittal by the Senate has given approval for his actions.
These loyalists took an oath to serve and protect the Constitution. Instead, this cult of Trumplicans took another oath to protect their king.
With their support, how much more harm can he do to this nation and its institutions?
