Election 2020: Bloomberg short in height, long on talent

Mayor Mike Bloomberg has the best resume to defeat President Trump in November. This is my considered opinion after 40 years of involvement in electoral politics.

Why can he win? He is very, very rich. Why is this a good thing? Because he can act independently, unbeholden to special interests as he campaigns and governs.

He doesn’t need to please big corporations, oil and drug companies or the military-industrial complex. On the Democratic side, he can be independent of Big Labor, government lawyer associations and even those pushing open borders.

Nor can he be labeled a socialist. After all, he made over $50 billion as a high-tech engineer and innovator in the private sector. Plus, unlike Trump, Bloomberg doesn’t owe a ton of money to a European bank.

I urge any Democrat, Independent or disenchanted Republican who’s looking for a dignified, serious, ethical and independent-minded candidate to “Google” Bloomberg and learn about this New Yorker. I bet you will be impressed with this self-made man of wealth, intellect and achievement.

And yes, Mr. President, he is short in height. But he is the bigger man.

Brian Ebersole, Tacoma
