Medicare for All: Labor union opposition is misplaced
We’ve been hearing about concerns from union leaders that Medicare for All will take away hard-won premium health insurance benefits. But if we start treating health care as a right and provide full spectrum care for all, no one needs to bargain for this benefit.
Why should something as essential as health care be on anyone’s bargaining table? Why are we so concerned about protecting health insurance policies when what we actually want is health care? Why should we or our employers funnel money into an insurance company’s profit margin?
The health insurance industry has to go to make way for health care as a right for all.
