Presidential primary: Sanders is smart Republican play
For those of us who aren’t left-leaning Democrats in the blue state of Washington, presidential elections are almost like buying a lottery ticket. It’s a foregone conclusion that your vote will count very little for your candidate. (The same is true in our governor and US Senate elections.)
But an open primary? Well, this year the presidential primary offers an opportunity to cast a vote that may actually count - but for a Democratic candidate.
No need to waste a vote for our current president, as he’s running unopposed. Vote for Bernie Sanders. He will be the best use of your conservative vote in Washington not seen in decades.
Just ask yourself, which Democratic candidate for president would present the best and clearest choice for America in the November election?
We could choose an incumbent president who, despite all the distractions from an unhinged liberal House majority, has led this nation to levels of prosperity and unemployment not seen in decades.
Or we could choose an avowed socialist who can only point to Cuba, Venezuela, Los Angeles, San Francisco or Seattle as examples of socialism at its best.
