Primary: Sanders votes may backfire on Republicans

Re: “Sanders is smart play for Washington Republicans,” (TNT letter, 3/5).

The letter writer thinks it is wise for Donald Trump supporters to vote for Bernie Sanders in Washington’s March 10 presidential primary since that secures a Trump win.

Wouldn’t be so sure. Four years ago I never would have believed a man with no government experience and a history of bankruptcies and lawsuits, a man who brags about grabbing female genitals, would be elected president. Until he was.

By voting for Sanders, it is not only possible he would win the nomination but also the election.

My advice to Trump supporters if they fear a Sanders election is this: Vote for Joe Biden, because whoever is the Democratic nominee will likely win in November.

Who would you prefer? Sanders or Biden?

Don’t count the chickens quite yet.
