Socialism: America wouldn’t be the same without it

Many people these days decry socialism, equating it with communism. Democratic socialism is practiced in Scandinavian countries and in most other other civilized countries and yes, here in the U.S., where it’s a foundation of our society. (“Socialism, “society” - get it?)

Some examples practiced in the U.S. are guaranteed public education, public transportation, fire and police departments, libraries, roads and highways, Social Security, public parks, public toilets, public drinking fountains, public parking, public everything!

If one is not a supporter of Democratic socialism, one should not take part in any of these American institutions. Folks should realize that living in this great country means a certain amount of organization for the good of us all.
