Trump: In crisis preparation, he’s no FDR
Eleven months before Pearl Harbor, with an American public strongly opposed to getting involved in another world war, President Franklin Roosevelt secretly gathered America’s captains of industry to begin manufacturing tanks, ships and airplanes.
These were the weapons of war needed to prepare this country to aid our Allies against the Axis powers.
Two months ago, President Trump was advised to enact the Defense Production Act to produce medical equipment needed to combat the coronavirus.
His administration is reported to have replied that they had everything they needed on hand.
Eighty years after FDR we are saddled with a president whose only focus is winning another term in office. He will lie about anything and everything.
Now unable to revel in his inane reelection rallies, he has resorted to having daily press-conference with his backdrop of head-nodding yes men.
Heaven help us.
