Social distancing: Joggers must be more attentive
It’s clear that some people don’t understand social distancing of at least 6 feet. I walk on 23rd Avenue in Puyallup and have become very frustrated with some people - particularly joggers - who don’t give me any space.
I am 75 and in a few high-risk categories, and I try hard to avoid possible contamination.
Frequently I do not hear runners coming from behind me. They then pass by about one foot, even though they could easily give me space.
The same goes for some younger walkers who pass me up and don’t try to give me any space.
Most people are very courteous and try hard to respect social distancing, but it seems that every day there is someone who totally ignores the guidelines. I am especially concerned about the runners, who are breathing heavily and pass before I hear them.
