Public transit: Vans better than empty buses

Re: “Pierce Transit limiting number of bus passengers to 15 during COVID-19,” (TNT, 4/15).

So the transit agency will now only allow 15 riders on a 40-passenger bus around town. That is a good joke.

Not only do their buses run mostly empty all day long during normal times, but during this quarantine, you’d be lucky to find that many riders on a single route.

I’d like to see far fewer large buses running empty and trade them in for vans, which would make more sense from both an economic and ecological standpoint.
